Ghafari Abdulahad is believed to have grabbed a girl's wrist before groping her chest on the walking path near the 5800 block of Wood Poppy Court in Burke on Sept. 7 around 6:30 p.m., county police said.

The victim was able to run away and call the police. A composite sketch of the suspect was completed on Sept. 14, and a large canvass of the area and search for additional leads was launched.

Additional leads involving the suspect were reported to police, including an assault against a minor and an additional instance of sexual battery against a minor.

Police identified Abdulahad as a suspect after noticing he matched the description of the suspect walking on the pathways. Detectives interviewed Abdulahad and found he frequents the walking paths near Burke Commons Road and Roberts Parkway.

Detectives charged Abdulahad with the Sept. 7 sexual battery of a minor. Abdulahad is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
